Has this worked? OBSERVATION

Every convergence we have ever flagged, priced from the next session’s open and measured against SPY over the same window — 201 of them at 60 sessions.

Average +1.51% vs SPY, but the median was 0.00% — the typical convergence matched the market exactly, and 44% beat it. The average is carried by a small number of large winners, not by being right consistently.

Rich premium today VALIDATED

What this means: if any of these is a stock you'd own at the right price, today is a well-paid day to sell its put. We check three conditions, each independently validated on ten years of real option quotes — every one, on its own, earned put sellers more per trade than selling on a random day:
high vol — the options are expensive in absolute terms (IV ≥ 30)
top of its year — premium in the top quarter of that name's own trailing year
post-drop — the stock fell 5%+ this week; protection is being bid
More conditions = a better day. Signal is from last night's close and typically persists days, not hours — verify the live quote at the open. The example contract is the shape our validation used: ~40 days out, ~20-delta, held to expiry, assignment acceptable.

The c8alpha take

The dominant story today is the semiconductor complex selling off broadly ahead of NVDA's earnings in two days — AMD, Micron, Applied Materials, Broadcom, and Intel each gave up substantial ground over five sessions, with Intel's drawdown the sharpest in the group, and NVDA arrives at its print already well off its highs with implied volatility near the top of its year. The Idea Scout shows more long-side voices on NVDA than short, so the earnings result carries weight both ways: confirmation or unwind. Running the opposite direction, gold saw options flow at four times its normal day with implied volatility at the top of its annual range, flagged as one of the better-paid premium moments of the year, and the voice consensus has gold as the most crowded long position on the board by a wide margin. Silver's institutional hand is building in parallel — four voices went long within a ten-day window, heavy long-dated accumulation visible in the options tape, and the mining space posted notable single-session strength today. Dick's Sporting Goods reports tomorrow with options pricing near the extreme of its history, the first real consumer read of the week. To watch: NVDA's number is the fulcrum for the semi complex; for gold, whether the elevated options activity persists into next week will tell you whether the crowded long is still building or has peaked.
