One idea OBSERVATION

The single most interesting thing in what investors said publicly this quarter — not a recommendation, and not a prediction.

Only one of sixteen public META bulls actually owns it.

Pat Dorsey holds the position. Ben Carlson, Ben Thompson, Bill Ackman, Brian Belski, Jim Cramer, Josh Brown, Ken Gawrelski, and Kevin Simpson are among those voicing bullish views without a disclosed position. That 1-in-16 hold rate is thinner than gold (13 of 57), bitcoin (2 of 19), energy (3 of 33), industrials (2 of 17), or long-duration treasuries (2 of 19), where more of the public bulls are actually positioned.

Counted from the corpus: 16 people are bullish on META; 1 of them actually hold the position.

Has this worked? OBSERVATION

Every convergence we have ever flagged, priced from the next session’s open and measured against SPY over the same window — 291 of them at 60 sessions.

Average +0.74% vs SPY, but the median was 0.00% — the typical convergence matched the market exactly, and 43% beat it. The average is carried by a small number of large winners, not by being right consistently.

Rich premium today VALIDATED

What this means: if any of these is a stock you'd own at the right price, today is a well-paid day to sell its put. We check three conditions, each independently validated on ten years of real option quotes — every one, on its own, earned put sellers more per trade than selling on a random day:
high vol — the options are expensive in absolute terms (IV ≥ 30)
top of its year — premium in the top quarter of that name's own trailing year
post-drop — the stock fell 5%+ this week; protection is being bid
More conditions = a better day. Signal is from last night's close and typically persists days, not hours — verify the live quote at the open. The example contract is the shape our validation used: ~40 days out, ~20-delta, held to expiry, assignment acceptable.

Volume out of the ordinary

No sustained volume anomalies this session.

Someone is making a very specific bet NOTABLE

Options volume piling into one strike and date, call-heavy — the footprint that sometimes precedes announcements (deals, guidance). Not a buy or short signal — a "something may be brewing here" notice, and rare by design.

The c8alpha take

The sharpest thing on the tape today is gold and silver pulling back hard while gold remains the most one-sided bullish consensus in the entire analyst corpus — nearly no disagreement anywhere. Whether this is orderly profit-taking or the beginning of a crowded-long unwind matters for almost every macro portfolio that touched metals this year; the next session sets the first real test.

Nuclear names are being quietly and consistently sold — uranium miners and reactor builders across the board — in contrast to the AI and semiconductor theme, which keeps producing large gains over the trailing month despite today's red close on several of the same names.

The specific bet worth flagging: MTN has extreme put-side protection new since the last edition, with downside-hedging activity far above its normal range and volatility near the top of its own history — someone specifically positioned against ski resorts near-term.
