One idea OBSERVATION
The single most interesting thing in what investors said publicly this quarter — not a recommendation, and not a prediction.
**USTS splits opinion far more than portfolios.**
Among 74 bullish people, only david_rosenberg, jim_bianco, liz_thomas, rupert_mitchell and sebastian_page actually hold the position. The bearish side counts 59 people, but just quinn_thompson, ray_dalio and steve_chiavarone are positioned—leaving a closely contested public debate backed by only 5 bulls and 3 bears.
Counted from the corpus: USTS splits the room: 74 bullish (5 positioned) against 59 bearish (3 positioned).

Has this worked? OBSERVATION
Every convergence we have ever flagged, priced from the next session’s open and measured against SPY over the same window — 291 of them at 60 sessions.
Average +0.74% vs SPY, but the median was 0.00% — the typical convergence matched the market exactly, and 43% beat it. The average is carried by a small number of large winners, not by being right consistently.

*The three validated put-selling signals — explained in the next section.
Rich premium today VALIDATED
What this means: if any of these is a stock you'd own at the right price,
today is a well-paid day to sell its put. We check three conditions, each
independently validated on ten years of real option quotes — every one, on its
own, earned put sellers more per trade than selling on a random day:
high vol — the options are expensive in absolute terms (IV ≥ 30)
top of its year — premium in the top quarter of that name's own trailing year
post-drop — the stock fell 5%+ this week; protection is being bid
More conditions = a better day. Signal is from last night's close and typically
persists days, not hours — verify the live quote at the open. The example contract
is the shape our validation used: ~40 days out, ~20-delta, held to expiry,
assignment acceptable.
| Name | IV | Own-yr pctile | Why today | Example contract (last close) |

| INTC Semis Earnings in 8d | 83.4 | 83 | high vol, top of its year, post-drop | Nov 20 $80p · $1.93 bid ≈ 2.41% / 30d |

Someone is making a very specific bet NOTABLE
Options volume piling into one strike and date, call-heavy — the footprint that sometimes precedes announcements (deals, guidance). Not a buy or short signal — a "something may be brewing here" notice, and rare by design.

| UPST Finance | Mar 19 $25C — 1,002 contracts (18% of the day's calls) | rarest day in years for this name | 68.7% calls | +4.03% |

The c8alpha take
The clearest market message was a broad unwind in crowded growth themes: AI infrastructure, power, nuclear, space and defense all showed heavy downside, while energy stood apart with broad strength. That divergence will look more durable if energy keeps leading tomorrow while the former leaders fail to rebound; a quick reversal would make it look more like a positioning washout. Call-heavy long-dated activity in DXC, BRZE and LION arrived after sharp runs, but similar shapes have leaned negative lately, so follow-through matters more than the initial excitement. Downside demand in FMC and ROL adds a separate note of caution around earnings-sensitive names; stabilization tomorrow would weaken that signal, while renewed pressure on heavy volume would confirm it.
